What is Mums on the Move?
Mums on the Move’ is an evidence-based class that focuses on returning women postnatally to running, weightlifting, and gameplay. With new research coming to light regarding the importance of gradual re-loading of tissues following pregnancy, ‘Mums on the Move’ bridges the gap by promoting a safe and successful return to postnatal sport. The supervised program assesses and progresses women through a gradual loading program so that they can reach their physical goals postnatally. No matter what your goal is, we are here to help you return to sport and gym in a safe manner!

FAQs
The Mums on the Move classes involve once weekly group exercise sessions over ten weeks. The classes are run by our pelvic health physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. The classes consist of a combination of aerobic, strength and pelvic floor exercises. All exercises are modified for individual abilities.
To register for the class, simply click the “Book Now” button below. You will be directed to our online bookings page. When prompted, click on the ‘Pelvic Health Assessment’ option and select Albury (Mums on the Move is only available in Albury). Once you’ve attended your assessment, you will begin your program – it will include strength training and other specifics depending on your goals. At the completion of the 10 sessions, you attend your final assessment to help you with self-management strategies and plan your progression to sport.
This can vary depending on the individual. Following your six-week postnatal appointment with your GP, you can book an appointment with one of our pelvic health physiotherapists and they will determine whether the class is an appropriate choice for you. Most women who are early in their postnatal recovery will benefit from attending our Mums and Bubs Pilates class first to build core awareness and basic strength before progressing into this class. If you are further down the track postnatally, then commencing in this class may be appropriate for you.
This will be at the discretion of the practitioner running the class. While bubs are welcome in our classes, safety for you & your bub is a priority. We ask that you provide supervision for your child during the session at all times. If your bub is able to safely remain away from equipment & other smaller bubs, then they are more than welcome to attend.
Yes. It is necessary to have an assessment with a pelvic health physiotherapist before you begin your group class. The assessment will assess your suitability for the class and gain an understanding of your goals and capabilities.
