Jennie was born in Cairns, Queensland, and grew up near Murwillumbah on the NSW-Queensland border. After graduating as a physiotherapist from Cumberland College of Health Sciences, Sydney, in 1986, Jennie enjoyed a broad range of general physiotherapy experiences in the public health system in Sydney, Hobart and then Albury. This was followed by 11 successful years as the Principal of her own private practice. As one of the longest standing members of the Flexout family, Jennie has been a committed member of the team since 2004. Hand therapy and upper limb disorders have been Jennie’s area of expertise since the early 1990’s, and she has been a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association for more than 30 years.
In 2002, Jennie passed an international exam to become recognised as a Certified Hand Therapist. Jennie is a member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA), and has previously served on the executive committee, as well as presenting at National AHTA conferences. Over the years she has also casually lectured in hand therapy at Charles Sturt University, Albury.
Outside work, Jennie is a keen horse rider and self-proclaimed chocolate connoisseur. She loves to be outdoors with her horses and dogs or in the garden. The most important life achievement for Jennie has been raising three beautiful, happy children.
