After graduating from Deakin University in 2018, Amy relocated to Wodonga from the Western suburbs of Melbourne to commence her career as an occupational therapist and hand therapist. She completed the Flexout Health new graduate hand therapy program in 2020, and has proven herself to be a skilled and motivated member of the hand therapy team. With a focus on empowering clients about their injuries, Amy’s special interests lie in the prevention and treatment of sporting hand injuries, complex fractures and postoperative rehabilitation.
Having previously recovered from a hand injury of her own, Amy understands how frustrating hand injuries can be. She takes an active and goal-orientated approach to rehabilitation of her clients, with the ultimate aim of getting everyone to use their hands as quickly as possible. She also enjoys creating different types of splints for all kinds of upper limb issues, including for those living with a disability supported by the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Amy is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and is working towards becoming an accredited member in the not too distant future. Outside work, you can find Amy wakeboarding and fishing along the beautiful Murray River.
